My MISAdventures With FedEX - Updated whenever new info comes about

So here I sit, Sunday evening, looking at some stuff at NewEgg.com that I really want to buy. On Monday, Newegg, fast as always, sends me an e-mail that my order was shipped. Now, note that I have ordered from Newegg many, many times before, and they are an excellent company. They always ship with FedEx, which has always delivered stuff on time, and without any problems. I've had a problem with UPS sending to the wrong street once, and thought FedEx would not fail me....however I was wrong.
Here's my story:

Tuesday, 11:30AM: I check the tracking page. Status of my package: "Delivered at 10:57AM"
I didn't hear any truck within the last 30 minutes but I ran to my porch to try to find my package. To my worst fears it was nowhere to be found. Immediately I call the 1 800 GO FedEx number and talk to some lady. I tell her that my package was supposedly delivered, but that there was no sign of any delivery, nor of the package. She looks at the info and states that the driver noted: "Package left behind gate." "I DON'T HAVE ANY GATES" I tell her. She asks me: "Do any of your neighbours have a gate?" Even though a few neigbhours a couple houses down the street have a gate, I say "NO, they don't" since it's a few houses away from my house. She tries to trace my package and gives me a case number and says the driver has been contacted and I will get a call within a few hours.
During those few hours I take a couple perimeter walks to see if there are any packages at my neighbours'. I probably looked like a criminal when I was looking over fences trying to see whether there was a package behind the gates, but I was determined to find my package, since FedEx didn't show any signs of doing so.
A few hours go by, no sign from FedEx, as I expected after reading numerous horror stories found on Google. At 4PM I call FedEx and ask them about any updates. The lady tells me to wait until 8PM. I do, once again nothing. I call at 9PM to tell them I didn't hear from them. The lady says: "Wait until tomorrow."

Wednesday, 1PM: No sign of my package anywhere. I call FedEx again, and I get an answer that there are no updates from the driver. Losing all hope I call Newegg and give them my control number so that they can begin to file a claim, so that I can get my refund for that package I didn't receive. They tell me it will take a few weeks for the claim to be processed. Having nothing else to say, I agree.

Wednesday, a week later: Thankfully Newegg refunded me money. And I say "THANKFULLY" because the previous owner of the house had a signature waiver and normally Newegg just throws these claims away.
